The diagram below provides a high-level overview of the system showing AWS CloudWatch events triggering the Lambda functions to update the IoT shadow, as well as Alexa skill integration to perform actions verbally. The Pi also interacts with AWS Rekognition to check photos it captures for a dog (Lula) and sends them off to Slack if it spots her so I see what she's up to while I'm at work.
